Breastfeeding 101: Benefits, Tips, and Tricks

The Maternal Health Network has established community education materials for breastfeeding 101: benefits, tips, and tricks. These materials are available for download and are intended to be utilized by Maternal Health Network members to educate families in San Bernardino County.

The Maternal Health Network has developed a consumer presentation toolkit, compiled resources specific to breastfeeding 101: benefits, tips, and tricks, and created video vignettes that can be used by members of the Maternal Health Network when talking with families.

Subject matter experts provided the Maternal Health Network with what they see as the three most important things families need to know about breastfeeding 101: benefits, tips, and tricks. Using this information, the Maternal Health Network has established a consumer presentation toolkit for providers, which includes a flyer, PowerPoint presentation with facilitator notes, an Agenda, and a training video that is intended to provide a mechanism for consistent messaging across providers for breastfeeding 101: benefits, tips, and tricks. All materials are available for download and have space for you to add your organization’s logo on the materials should you desire.

The Maternal Health Network worked with subject matter experts to develop three 3-minute videos specific to Breastfeeding 101: Benefits, Tips, and Tricks for consumers. The first video describes the three main points that families should know about breastfeeding that is described in the consumer presentation toolkit. The second video has tips for you as an educator on how to talk with families about this topic. The third video describes a consumer experience. All videos are available for download and can be shared on your organization’s social media, website, or other platforms where you engage with the families you serve. 

Black and African American Breastfeeding

The MHN is committed to elevating issues of equity in all areas of our work. When completed, each community education bundle will include materials specific to Black and African American families to help focus our efforts on supporting positive maternal and infant health outcomes for this population. Below, you will find a Tip Sheet and social media posts that elevate issues of equity for breastfeeding and promote programs funded by the Perinatal Equity Initiative in San Bernardino County.
