The California Department of Education provides information for Families on Children’s Early Development ages 0-5 years to help you understand how your child learns and discover new ways to support their growth.
Lantern (formally Bright by Text) is nationwide text messaging service that provides free parenting and child development resources. The program delivers free, expert-backed tips, games, and community resources tailored to your child's exact age (from pregnancy through the preteen years) directly to your cell phone.
The Vroom: Early Learning app is a free, science-backed parenting tool designed to boost brain development in children from birth to age five. It provides over 1,000 bite-sized, interactive activities that seamlessly fit into everyday routines like bath time, meal time, or grocery shopping.
A completely free, mobile-friendly learning initiative by First 5 California and Cell-Ed. Designed for parents, caregivers, and early childcare providers of children birth to age 5, it provides micro-lessons and live coaching to help manage challenging situations and build nurturing environments.

Ages The Ages & Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) is an easy tool to check how your child is growing and learning. It looks at skills like talking, moving, solving problems, and social behavior. Filling out the ASQ helps you see what your child does well and if they need extra help in some areas.
