Domestic Violence Services

Supports adults and their children in Plumas or Sierra County experiencing domestic violence by offering immediate shelter, resources to meet basic needs, safety planning, domestic violence restraining orders and other legal advocacy, and transportation.

Plumas Rural Services

Location:

Plumas Rural Services helps anyone in Plumas or Sierra County who is experiencing domestic violence in a partner relationship. They support people of all backgrounds and beliefs. Services are available for both adults and children who need help. Families can get safe shelter, support, legal advocacy, transportation, case management, and other resources to stay safe. Safety Planning: It is important for survivors and their families to feel safe. The staff uses a safety plan to help people who may be in danger.

Provides free and confidential support to any survivor of rape, sexual abuse, and sexual violence.

Emergency Housing, Resource Navigation and Concrete Support

Helps people who are unhoused or at risk by providing shelter, basic needs, and many services, and advocacy and connection, to help families recover after an emergency, crisis, or in time of other need.

PCIRC helps families and individuals who are unhoused or at risk of losing their homes. They offer many services like emergency shelter, short-stay housing, food, clothing, and help with rent or bills. They also provide job training, counseling, and a 24-hour crisis line. PCIRC works closely with each family to find the right support in their time of need.

Need-based program offers gas vouchers for children's out-of-town medical appointments and food vouchers to reduce family food shortages.

Victim/Witness Assistance Program

Helps victims and witnesses who have been hurt by a crime, including legal advocacy, help with paperwork and claims, and concrete support, like transportation and calling family for you.

The program helps people who have been hurt by a crime. The staff supports both victims and witnesses, making sure you understand what’s happening and are treated with care and respect. A Victim Advocate can help you through the legal process, answer questions, and make sure you feel supported. They help with many things, like: - Going to court with you - Giving updates about your case - Helping with paperwork for crime victim support and money claims - Helping get back your property - Helping with restraining orders, funeral planning, and transportation - Notifying your job or loved ones if needed Call 530-283-6285 to talk to a Victim Advocate. For emergencies, call 911. For non-emergencies, call the Sheriff’s Office at 530-283-6300. Business Hours: Monday - Friday 8 am to 4 pm, Closed on County Holidays Office Hours: Monday - Friday 9 am to 4 pm, Closed on County Holidays. Customer Service Counter is available for walk-up assistance during Office Hours.
