Benefits of Regional Center Lanterman Services for Children 3-5 Early Intervention and Assessment Comprehensive evaluations to identify developmental delays or disabilities early on. Access to specialized therapies (speech, occupational, physical therapy) tailored to the child’s needs. Individualized Support through IPP Development of an Individual Program Plan (IPP) that sets specific goals and outlines services for the child. Coordinated care involving families, therapists, and educators to address developmental areas. Family Support and Case Management Assistance for parents in navigating service systems and accessing community resources. Guidance on educational options and eligibility for special education services. Access to Early Childhood Programs Connection to preschool programs that accommodate children with special needs. Inclusion opportunities promoting socialization and skill development with peers. Respite Care for Families Temporary relief services to support families and caregivers managing the child’s needs at home. Location:

This organization offer free, quality legal help and advocacy to anyone in need and also provides free online self-help resources. They provide services to income-eligible clients. They do not provide criminal, injury, divorce or child custody legal support.
In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS)

IHSS provides care services to eligible children to help them remain safely in their own homes. To be eligible, children must have a disability that causes them to need assistance with daily activities like bathing, dressing, feeding, or require protective supervision. This care can look like medical, hygiene or personal care, or protective supervision to keep the child safe.

Plumas County Department of Social Services

Location:

IHSS is available to help families with children, ages 0-5, with physical and developmental disabilities which require help that exceeds what a parent or caregiver would provide for a typically developing infant, toddler, or preschooler. Please call Social Services to set up an appointment to help identify your child's needs and to apply.
In-Home Respite Care

Provides a break to parents and caregivers of children and adults with disabilities, seniors, and others dependent on a caregiver. Respite providers can be family, friends, or trained professionals. Respite care helps to strengthen parent and caregiver resilience and wellness.

Location:

The In-Home Respite program provides temporary breaks for caregivers of children and adults with disabilities, seniors, and those recovering from a illness or surgery. Care is provided in the individual’s home by trained and screened Respite Care Providers. Families may interview and select Respite Care Providers of their choice.
