Weekly playgroups are held in Quincy and Portola to help parents of young children connect with each other and to provide a place for young children to play and learn together. The group facilitator offers parenting support and educational resources, as well as referrals to local experts.

Lost Sierra Kids Weekly Playgroup

Provides young children and their caregivers the space and support for learning and growing in the Graeagle, CA area; group meets every Thursday at the soccer fields or Mohawk Resources Center. Locations change depending on the season. Open to children of all ages. Check out their Facebook link for updates.

Lost Sierra Kids

Location:

This community partnership with First Five Plumas provides young children and their families a fun space to play and learn together. It is free and open to children of all ages, and everyone is welcome to attend.

Ages and Stages Parent Questionnaires (ASQ-2 and ASQ-3)

Free and easy to complete private, online parent questionnaires, with feedback and follow-up support by local child development experts.

Location:

First 5 Plumas helps families in Plumas County support their children from birth to age 5. You can learn more about how your baby, toddler, or preschooler is growing and learning at every stage by checking out fun screening kits from any Plumas County Library and by completing the Ages and Stages Screening and Questionnaire. A Family Navigator will follow up with your results and share helpful tips and activities.

Family First Home Visiting Program

Offers free visits to support families, prenatal to age 18, with health information, car seats, infant care, preventative dental, Parents as Teachers Program, and local resources.

Location:

Family First Home Visiting Program offers free and private visits, to your home or preferred meeting place, for parents who are expecting a baby. This program provides health information for parents and children, prenatal through age 18, car seats, infant massage training, Parents as Teachers Program, referrals to other local resources that can improve health and safety.
